as well as an advisory committee member with the mission ymca, and supervisor avalos's district. we sponsor a food and wine event, any golf tournament in santa cruz; we raised over 1,000,000 dollars of those events. i volunteered to junior achievement of the network for teaching entrepreneurship where i spent time with high school children discussing finance and business. i have become engaged in local event to discuss the future of the district and i recognize their once-in-a-lifetime opportunity facing district 10 and the eastern neighborhoods to create iconic and lasting projects for the overall community. insum , i have a strong desire to serve the committee in his capacity and put the time to understand the issues. whether it is transit improvements to meet the need of rapid development, affordable housing, pdr< more open space, city services, i know tough decisions will have to be made by the board of supervisors and city leadership in years to come. in my nominations met favorably but the committee and the board as a whole i will be pleased to join the cac to assist in those

(applause) >> thank you, daniel. and thank you all for being here for this great, great event. it is my honor and bridge to help bring up the folks who are part of the outstanding neighborhood watch group, part of the nay street neighborhood watch of district 11. (applause) >> we can bring up linda cook and patricia de font. i am really, really proud of this neighborhood watch group. we had some really hard times back in 2008. we had a few homicides in the excelsior district, one that is very well known, the bologna homicides. these tragedies are horrible if nothing else but to help communities organize. nay street neighbors really did that. they looked out for one another. they reached out. they created relationships where perhaps they didn't exist before. they looked at their neighborhood and thought, how can we make this neighborhood safer? and they've done amazing things. they've done greening, they planted last month scores of trees in the neighborhood. they brou
avalos, kim and mar, basically it's an item asking the budget and legislative analyst to conduct a performance review of this agency, and the kinds of things that performance review would include would be compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws, including different practices and procedures that the city has in place. the effectiveness of the agency's governance as well as financial controls, recommendations made by hud and other entities that have audited this agency. the audit would also look at the management of public housing resources including housing provided by section 8 vouchers, as well as looking at housing authority mass public housing and housing managed by third parties including nonprofit corporations. the audit would also as a matter of practice look at the management of the agency including looking at the management staff and other resources; and other jurisdictions. one thing that we want to be very careful about is we are mindful of the fact that the federal government, through hud, is auditing the agency and in thinking about the scope
